Essential Functions:
Provide Interpreter services regarding clinical and health-care related discussions involving the patient care team, patient and family.
Maintain proper medical terminology vocabulary and fluency in both English and the target language.
Maintain documentation regarding interpreter encounters in accordance with established guidelines.
Calls patient's to confirm interpreter services for the next day's appointments.
Enters notes into Epic and coordinates information with Diagnostic Scheduling staff.
Utilize patient information in accordance with established guidelines.
Perform written translation of New Patient Intake forms (2 Pages) and discharge document.
Perform duties as an in person assister in compliance with Health insurance exchange registration.
License/Certification:
Current DSHS Language Translation Certification (LTC) Medical Certification is required for languages that are certified.
Education:
High School graduate or GED required.
Successful completion of a medical interpreting course preferred.
Experience/Training:
Previous experience verbally interpreting English/Target Language in a medical setting preferred.
