Job Summary
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, conducting comprehensive evaluation, designing and implementing therapy and treatment plans for children from birth through twenty-one years of age, and providing education to families and other providers. Knowledge and interest in treating a variety of diagnoses and disordering neurological disorders, Autism spectrum disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Down's syndrome, sensory integration disorder/concerns, feeding and other delays and disorders as presented. Therapist will coordinate with a multidisciplinary team including speech language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists as well as pediatricians, nutritionists, local school districts and mental health specialists. Essential Functions
Conducts formal and informal patient assessment.
Writes reports detailing initial evaluation results and progress.
Maintains accurate documentation of treatment, progress, home programs, and discharge information per established policies and procedures.
Monitors patient progress and adjusts treatment plans as warranted.
Operates treatment devices in accordance with manufacture guidelines and SRH policies and procedures.
Coordinates patient care with the appropriate services. Identifies and acts appropriately in code situations per established protocols.
Assists co-workers, patients, vendors, physicians and others in a respectful and courteous manner.
Attends and actively participates in all department, team and/or committee meetings.
Provides education and ongoing home programs to patients and families.
Minimizes non-productive time with activities that enable you to meet all needs of SRH (education, organization, housekeeping and assisting others).
Complies with SRH Safety and Infection Control policies and procedures.
Utilizes proper body mechanics and personal protective equipment.
Reports and/or resolves all safety issues/incidents in a timely manner.
Acts as a resource for healthcare providers, school, and other agencies.
Complies with all SRH policies and procedures.
Performs all other duties as assigned by Director or Designee.
Education:
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy.
Experience/Training:
Previous experience in pediatrics in a clinical or school setting is preferred.
License/Certifications:
Must be licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Washington.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider Basis Life Support certification required.
